Paddington is an area in the City of Westminster, in central London, England. [1] A medieval parish then a metropolitan borough, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Paddington station, designed by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel opened in 1847.

The laboratory where he worked has been restored to how it was nearly a century ago and is open to the public.
The iron- and glass-embellished Paddington railway station (1854) was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who was the chief engineer of the Great Western Railway.
